Classic Game Room HD reviews YOSHI’S ISLAND for Super Nintendo SNES from 1995! Also known as Super Mario World 2, Yoshi’s Island is an amazing 16-bit side scroller with incredibly deep gameplay with intelligent design that separates it from the normal side scroller. You play as a variety of Yoshis (I didn’t know there was more than one!) who are trying to rescue baby Mario’s twin brother Luigi! Luigi was kidnapped!? Amber Alert! Yoshis embark on the adventure of a lifetime through 40 some stages packed with hidden items, coins, flowers and bad guys. Jump, hop, run and eat enemies. After eating them Yoshi can turn them into eggs which he shoots at objects or just spit them out as projectiles. Very clever! While it may look like a children’s game Yoshi’s Island is much more. Amazing visuals, well produced music and gameplay that is miles ahead of most games makes this one a must play for fans of Mario games and side scrollers. This CGR review of Yoshi’s Island has gameplay from the SNES game cartridge, Yoshi’s Island showing game play from Super Nintendo in action during the review of Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario World 2.

Wow. Back when I owned a SNES (the first time in the late 1990′s) I owned this game. I bought it new basically played it for months! I played this game so much I unlocked all of the hidden levels, and I could *almost* get a perfect score for this whole game. There were three hidden levels I couldn’t get 100%. Anyway, this game is one of the most highest quality games ever created.
How about Kirby?Kirby’s digestion system is kind of disturbing. There is also a picture about that.
this game was fantastic back in the day, and honestly still is. i remember growing up with this game on my snes
great reveiw but aint luigi marios little brother
review super mario 64 PLZ!!!!!! (thumbs up this so he can see it)
looks allot like yoshi story.
Developers need do more games like that
Its a shame that today only mature games seens to make success
@TheRandomkid321 Considering this game was game was made by Nintendo, and is one of the only canonical pieces of information given about Mario and Luigi’s history, that would be a no.
stoned yoshi is win
I actually own this game and two snes’s version one the big clunky one and version two the slimmer model no.2. I actually own this game several times over, two snes copies, many rom copies, one on my psp, one on my gba, one on my wii. As well as the sequel however i do think this was one of Nintendo’s best games ever made. Few live up to the pick up and play style.
@TheRandomkid321 They never really explained that too greatly they are twins but you can hear him referred to as little brother also in the show and the movie. Its really really perplexing.
Luigi’s name- Luigi Mario
Mario’s name- Mario Mario
This game was the greatest I’ve ever played. Yoshi was quite the little stoner…
Yes. Remember the watermelon seeds awesome.
this is the 5th video that is just very sluggish and slow to watch…this really isent enjoyable and now :C
This needs to be on the VC
Easily the greatest Mario game of all time. Nintendo has yet to top the final encounter with Bowser in this game. Watching this took me back to the pinnacle of 2D gaming. Thank you
your intro to this game is EPIC
This was the first game I ever played. When I get a job I’m gonna save my money and by a SNES, this game, and EarthBound.
I love my SNES had it sice it was new and it still works like it just came out of the box.If you like yoshi’s island then you will like yoshi’s story for the n64
i have game for my gamboy sp haha. it’s pretty much the exact same thing as this same levels and how mario goes up in a bubble if you get hurt ect, ect, but there are some different sounds like for example when yoshi jumps he goes “ha” instead of “bo-ing.”
this game brings back memories
